Welcome to the newly minted Redwood Orthopedic Massage (formerly Practiced Hands: Therapeutic Massage)! This is a small company ( still owned and operated by the same person) dedicated to helping you find ways to destress from the rigors of life. As a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, I specialize in techniques that address pain (chronic or otherwise), range of motion issues, injury, and help with rehabilitation and post-surgery needs.

It is my goal to see that every client is given my full attention, and with that in mind, each session targets your specific needs. I take time to create a custom tailored body work session, that focuses on the chronic pain areas, and the supporting muscle groups, in order to help the muscles return to nominal function. Though this type of work is my specialty, I am also aware that sometimes all you need is a nice relaxing massage, and I can provide that as well. Every session is unique; as I like to tell my clients, “every body is different everyday”, I’ll try to meet you where you are at.

Please take a look around, and explore. If you are looking to get the process started you can find all my contact information under the "About" tab in the "Contact Info" section, or you can click on "Book Here" and get your session scheduled today. I hope that you will take the time to put your needs at the forefront and start the process of recovery with Redwood Orthopedic Massage, where you can find a touch of relief.

I only have have a few items on the menu:

30 minute Custom Session - For those days where you just don't have enough time for full bodywork, but you still want to get something done.

60 minute Custom Session - The standard hour of body work time. A great way to explore, and find issues to focus on in future sessions, all while getting that relaxed sensation.

90 minute Custom Session - A bigger commitment to self care. I typically like to break this session into two parts: an hour of therapeutic work, followed by 30 minutes of gentle massage to close out the session on a relaxing note.

120 minute Custom Session - This session is not for the feint of heart; one hour to 90 minutes of therapeutic bodywork, with the remaining time focused of relaxation, this session can be intense. This will definitely leave you with the massage drunk feeling. *I will only book this session for known clients, after an initial evaluation to determine their ability to handle long sessions.*

FAQs

Q: Why the rebrand?

A: I spent a good chunk of time (August 2019 - August 2023) working out of a Physical Therapy office in the Pacific Northwest; because I was able to focus and hone my craft so specifically to medical massge ,when I relocated back to Sonoma county I thought my practice should reflect those ideals.

Q: Can I book with you online?

A: Why yes, yes you can. Check out the Bookings tab on at the top of the page.

Q: What kinds of massage do you offer?

A: My work is evidence-based, orthopedic massage. I specialize in Trigger Point work, Myofascial Release, and a host of other deep tissue modalities. That being said, I was trained to provide a full suite of techniques for any occasion, and I will work with you to determine what is right for your body on the day.

Q: Do you work with minors or pregnant people?

A: I will work with anyone of any age, and in almost any condition. For minors, I require parents to be in the room or on premises. Pregnant persons are always a delight to work with, all I ask is that you keep me informed of any ongoing medical conditions that may contraindicate massage.

Q: What can I expect from my massage?

A: Massage can be anything you need it to be, whether that is a relaxing or more therapeutic experience; it all depends on what kind of body work you are hoping to receive.

Q: How should I prepare for my massage?

A: First and foremost, stay hydrated throughout the day, depending on the work you receive you may feel sore the next day, and staying hydrated will help flush metabolic waste out of your muscles and help you feel better faster. I always recommend to do some light stretching before coming in, it helps warm the tissues, which means we can get to the deeper work faster. As for how to dress, please come in comfortable clothes; something easy to move around in (gym attire is the best). That does NOT include denim.

Q: Why should I come in comfortable clothes, aren’t I going to get undressed and on the table?

A: My work can be done through fabrics, so if we determine that you do not need to disrobe comfy clothes are eaiser for me to work through. Keep in mind that each session is unique, some people may not be comfortable fully disrobing, or disrobing at all, I try to accomodate those people as best I can.

Q: Do you do outcalls (mobile massage)?

A: Absolutely! I am more than happy to go to your home/office/event and provide massage in the comfort of your own space. I have multiple tables and a massage chair, so I am ready to go where ever you need me.

Q: What does the mobile massage entail?

A: You can expect me to arrive ten minutes before your scheduled appointment, I will need that time to set up my equipment and about that much time when we are done to break it all down.
